GS Wind Energy farm in Nandurbar, Maharashtra, India

This small scale project reduces Greenhouse gas emissions by generating renewable energy from seventeen 1.5MW wind turbines in the district of Nandurbar in the state of Maharashtra, India.The project activity reduces an estimation of 42,416 tons of CO2 annually by displacing approximately 45,033 MWh of fossil fuel power from the national grid. In the absence of the project activity an equivalent amount of fossil generated  electricity would have been generated in the Indian grid

 

This wind project fulfils three sustainable development goals (SDGs) that contribute to giving  access to affordable and sustainable energy for the communities in the area, generating employment opportunities and economic growth in the region and taking urgent action to combat climate change.
